La Dolce Vita Pizzeria got its’ start in of all places… Juneau, Alaska.  The owner, Renee Fincher, was in Alaska working in tourism when she found an eclectic little pizza shop called Third Street Pizzeria.  Being a long time pizza enthusiast, she knew this recipe would hold its’ own in the toughest of pizza markets.  Later the shop would become Pizzeria Roma and was taken over by Mitch and Farid Hosni whom Fincher bought it from in 1996.

After owning Pizzeria Roma for four years and suffering through 125 inches of rainfall per year, Fincher sold the restaurant and headed back home to Sanford, NC.

In December 2001, she opened La Dolce Vita Pizzeria in Sanford’s Historic Downtown.  The restaurant boasts hardwood floors, exposed brick, and an antique safe which is now converted into a wine cellar.  Historic photos document the buildings’ past as a fire station, the Town Hall, and Police station.

December 2005 marked the opening of La Dolce Vita’s second location in Holly Springs, NC.  It is located in the Mims Towne Square adjacent to the Town Hall.
